Hello all

Well Tuesday morning we got up, ready to go to the Muslim community. We took a train and a coach ride, and after about 4 hours of travelling we came to this hotel by the ocean. A few of us were thinking we were stopping before we took a boat somewhere, or we were picking someone up. All of us waited outside then Daniel came out and said that we were never going to a Muslim community, it was officially the end of outreach and we were staying in this hotel for 2 nights to celebrate. We were all so thankful and grateful.

Wednesday we all lazed around the pool and we also hired some windsurfers which we all had a go at, which was great fun! Today, spent more time at the pool, but in the shade as we all got terribly burnt. We are now back at the base before we fly to Malaysia Friday morning where we will stay until Saturday eve before catching a flight at about 10pm back to the Gold Coast.

This will be the last email, but I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone for praying and encouraging us.

God bless

Gud velsigne jer

Din fantastiske DTS team!

Hello all

Well we have nearly come to the end of our time in the Philippines.

We are staying at the YWAM base in the Philippines, which has been a great blessing; proper beds, toilets and showers!

The base here have lots of different ministries that we have helped with; Elementary, high school and college ministry, family ministry, TB ministry and daycare. We have done bible studies to families, groups of women and to students. We have done house visits, where we talk with them and just show God's love, share testimonies and pray for them. We have joined in with their feeding program where we give out food to some of the children/families in desperate need.

Being here we have spent time in their perminant housing, where up to 14 people can live in pretty much 2 rooms that are about 2 metres square, and the dump site, where families literally live on the dump site. Both places have been hard, but I think I can speak for all of us when saying that the dump site has been extremly heart breaking.

On Tuesday for 3 days we are going to a Muslim community, where us girls will have to wear Burquas! I am not entirely sure where that is based yet.

Prayer requests:

  • Last week a couple of people had cold/flu, but today both Megan and Berith got sick. Unsure the exact reason, but just pray that they will get better quickly, it wont get worse, and the rest of us wont catch anything.
  • Energy and good attitudes as it is coming near to the end of our time here, a lot of us are excited about going home, and can't stop thinking about it, so prayers that our minds will be focused on the job in hand.
  • Peace over our minds, as we are seeing a lot of extreme poverty.
  • Peace over our minds (again) as we are unsure about what we are doing in the Muslim community, and we have been told that it is very poor, poorer than here.

Thanks again for all your prayers, support and encouragement!

Hello friends

Well we have pretty much finished our time in Cambodia. We spent the first night at the YWAM base before travelling an hour to a small village where we stayed. We were joined in the village by 2 teams from The World Race which is an 11 month missionary organisation travelling to 11 different countries. It was cool to spend time with them as Megan from our group will be joining the World Race in July.

We slept on the floor in a house where rates were also guests. We also had to use squatty pottyes and bucket showers.

Each day after breakfast we would play with the kids at the local school before heading to different villages to talk to the familys about God. Sometimes we helped farmers in the fields preparing the ground for the vegetables.

After lunch we often did children's programmes where we played games with them, sang songs, did dramas. We sometimes did more house visits or we went to the orphanage where we spent some more time in the fields before spending time with the kids.

On Sunday we were watching a movie about the Khmer Rouge when we found out that a little girl aged about 8, was drowning in a pond. All of us, including the villagers rushed over and tried to help the little girl. We spent at least 10 mins looking for her. We were unsure what had happened to her but as the water was very muddy and deep. Finally after a lot of praying she was found, but it was too late. Us YWAMERS and the World Racers started praying for a miracle. Unfortunatly the miracle we were praying for didnt happen.

Sunday evening and Monday, however, we were invited to the girls family's house to mourn with and pray for the family. Which was a miracle as they were all Buddhists.

That was touch to deal with and to be apart of that, especially as most of us believed that God would perform a miracle as there was over 20 Christian missionaries in this one village. Even though he didnt perform the miracle we thought he would he performed another miracle with the open praying infront of these buddhists. We still know God is good and everything happens in his timings.

At the moment we are having a couple of days off in Phenom Penh before we fly to Malaysia on Monday for a night and then on Tuesday we fly to the Philippines.

Prayer requests:

  • Safe travel
  • Physical health
  • Team unity
  • Home sickness

Thanks again for all your prayers and support.

Hej venner

• Sikker rejse
• Fysisk sundhed
• Team enhed
• Hjemve

Tak igen for alle jeres bønner og støtte.

Happy New Year everyone.

Well we are on the start of outreach here in Byron Bay doing Impact Summer. There are about 5 other DTS teams from other parts of Australia here with us, so there are about 100 of us altogether.

Each day we begin with a time of worship and devotionals then after lunch we head out into town or the beach to do creative evangelism, which is anything from beach vollyball to healings to making hair wraps to live music.

How did everyone spend their new years eve? We spent it in the one of the parks giving out free pancakes, chi tea and healing people. It was truely incrediable seeing every single person being prayed for being healed by God. We were praying for things such as colds, bad backs to broken arms and legs.

We have also put on free BBQs in the park, (we have such a strong emphasis on it all being free and just showing others God's love). We have also gone into one of the parks and split up into different groups and put on different stalls for people to join in; hair wraps, live music, spiritual readings/prophetic readings, face painting, self portraits, healings and God questions. This worked really well and was another great atmosphere showing God's love to the people of Byron Bay.

Prayer requests:

  • One of our staff members has had to go home due to personal reasons, so we only have Daniel the school leader as the only staff member. Prayers for wisdom, strength and peace over this whole situation.
  • Due to road flooding near Brea Warrina, we are unsure whether we can make it there, so we may end up at another aboriginal community; location of that is unknown at the moment.
  • Continued team unity, especially as we are down to one staff member.

Thanks again
